Update on my first clay creation...

She now has a finished face and hair! I have named her Baynshee and have added gothy stitches to her mouth. Her name came about as she screams like a banshee to be loved and understood for who she is but no one seems to be listening.

I am listening sweet Baynshee, oh yes my darling I am....

She will be my first creation for my "Soo... im Different Dolls"

To Clay...or Not to Clay...

I am being brave *big sigh*

I decided to show you my first attempt at clay. Yes, yes,.... I know I have a long ways to go, but perhaps if I stick at it I will get there!

I had no clue as to what I was doing but I have to admit it was fun after I got over the frustration of not being able to master my first attempt lol. In all honesty my main goal finally became to try my best not to mess up those beautiful hand blown eyes.

The head you see above has no idea what kind of body she will be stuck onto, maybe that's why she looks a tad bit less then happy? I think I am heading in a gothy creepy yet cute direction.

I want ice cream...what?... but it's cold outside!

Well it's all her fault, really it is! I was just doing fine until she insisted on having an ice cream cone, now I want one.

I thought it was about time that I posted a little about what I have been working on.

Above is Letti the baby yeti and she just loves ice cream. I suppose a yeti wouldn't be cold eating one in the middle of winter?

I have been cracking up and having a ball while working on Letti. She is just the cutest mess with ice cream all around her mouth. Her ice cream cone has a magnet in it that will stick to the one in her hand. Oh and it's also a pin cushion, how wicked cool is that?

In my world a yeti must have horns so I gave my first try at them. I'm super happy with the way they came out and I have to say Letti is too. Of course she's yelling to be finished all together so I should get to hustling I suppose....

I am also working on this funny guy. Isn't he a trip? I have noooo idea what part of my mind he popped out of but I have been convinced to finish him. He is going to be all steampunked out which will be a totally new area for me as far as soft sculpture goes. I am so excited to give it a try. Think steampunk with super long legs and arms....

Last but not least I have FINALLY introduced a mini Baby Giant line. These little stinkers stand at only approx. 7 inches tall and sit at only approx. 5 inches. They are fully jointed just like the original BGs and I will either be making all of their outfits or will put in orders for Michele Byars at Hopelessly Hooked to crochet their outfits.

The darling Pooball Pipa

Oh my where to begin! I've been so wrapped up in so much I have very much neglected my blog. I am truly sorry to all those whom follow me. Having teen sons and one leaving to go into the military kind of does that to one.

Sooooo, above is my latest Pooball. I decided to revamp the line a bit and Pipa received fantastic feedback. She is already in a new home but I will be making more in this new style. I love how she turned out. I have also included more of the Pooball story under each of their pics. The Pooball Adventures are indeed beginning! Are you excited??? I surely am!

This is Tulip from my Ree's Rags line

Above is Tulip. It felt wonderful to make another rag doll and I will be making another one soon. Both have a home already but Tulip is still very happy to share her picture with you!

Mary and Her Little Lamb

I sculpted Mary had a Little Lamb for the nursery rhyme challenge I hosted for CDA.

Mary was inspired by my favorite childhood book "Best Loved Nursery Rhymes" illustrated by Teddy Williams. Teddy's artwork has held my heart since age 5.

I also made Mary's outfit which was inspired by Raspberry Tart from the 1980s Strawberry Shortcake.

I made her little lamb as well who is done kind of in a primative style. I did him free hand without making up a pattern. He was a lot of fun and so was Mary.

There are several techniques to be learned with tons of well polished photos to walk you through each one. There are SIX different dolls to make. Tears in my eyes...

Truly! Okay so I may seem a bit goofy to some but with all honesty when I saw these pictures in my inbox today I smiled till it hurt and I cried happy tears.

Let me try and explain a bit, you see, when I create it's not just a job to me. The job part came as a second blessing and due to my creations selling I am able to have what I love as a full time job. How blessed am I?

At any rate, as I was saying, when I create I am just not pinning, cutting, sewing, stuffing, sculpting, and painting. Oh no, I am doing SO much more. I am pouring my heart and soul into my creation. I truly am. I see them come to life, I see their personalities grow, I fall in love with each and every one of them along the way. Really! They take on a whole life of their own. I wish I had a nickle for every time I hugged one of my little ones as I made them LOL.

So you can understand right? What it means to actually get to SEE them so loved and in a happy home? Oh I think you can get the jist of it now, oh yes I do. Tis just me, Ree, and my wonderfully happy wonderland!

What I have been tinkering on...

I've been in a creative funk with some of my lines so have taken a break to venture into other projects/creations. For those of you waiting on a Baby Giant I am just taking a small creative break and will get back to them when I feel my mojo heading in that direction again. I know there is a huge waiting list for the Baby Giants and I am so very sorry to add to the wait but if I push myself when not feeling it my work suffers and I refuse to put out less then my best yanno?

The first dress I am working on is a vintage style outfit that will go on a toddler Uht Oh that will have pulled back ringlets kind of done in a vintage look with a matching cloth bow in her hair. Think Nancy or Nellie from Little house on the Prairie...

Now the second outfit I have been working on...hmmmm...wonder what line it can be for? Yep yep the Gothic Giggles. I have a violet huge eyed girl with black bob style hair waiting on this dress. The trim on this is wicked cool and consists of checkered ribbon with black glass beaded bobbles. I have also made black and white striped stocking to go with it. Not sure what I will do as far as a bow yet and I may put a hot pink tutu under the dress but not sure? I'm also thinking the girl may need some small plugs for her ears and perhaps a nose ring?

A new Gothic Giggle!

Please meet Vladmeyre the baby vulture. Ahem, yes I said vulture. Now, now, my dear ones, they need love too right? LOL

He was amazing to create and it was such a fun challenge to make a vulture cute. I did a pretty good job with that ya think? I sure hope so cause he has tugged at my heart strings that's for sure.

I have to admit Vlad is a bit shy as you can see in the below picture. Not at all vulture like but what can ya say?

Rewpurt is finished!

Oh lookie...another baby Uht Oh is being created...

...and he has two adorable bottom baby teeth! I so remember when my boys cut their first teeth. I believe they were both around 4 months old when they started popping through. Rewpurt, yes I said Rewpurt, is a very proud little boy about his two lil toofers, oh yes he is. Of course he's not too awful happy about not having arms and legs yet, gulp, but be brave dear Rewpurt and stay strong my love, those arms and legs are on their way tonight, well or possibly tomorrow.

I am having a ball with the baby Uht Ohs! I love doing the wobble heads and I love adding the realistic weight to them. They truly feel like a real baby when you hold then and oh that melts my heart into wanting to keep them all lol. I just cannot do that though so darling Rewpurt will be looking for a home as much as it breaks my heart...sigh.

A new size Uht Oh! has been born!

Up until this point all of my Uht Ohs! have been of the toddler age, which I have to admit, is an adorable age. However I can say the very same about the wobbly, non walking, cutie patootie 3-6 month age, so with this being said, I am tickled pink to finally introduce a baby size to this line.

The first created in this size is a little Hispanic baby girl names Isleta. She measures approx. 19 1/2 inches top of head to toe, wears size 3 months baby clothes and has a jointed wobble head, and jointed legs that gives her such a realistic feel.

Her body, legs, and arms are weighted with pellets then finished off with stuffing. I just cannot get over how much she feels like a real baby when I hold her.

Here is a pic of Isleta with a toddler size Uht Oh to show a size comparison.

I have a couple wonderful families waiting to give Isleta a home but I do believe this baby girl will be staying with me. Yep, I just do not think I can part with her.

Oh the crocodile tears!

I just wanted to note that Kloe found a loving home yesterday!

Doesn't she just break your heart? Oh please no worries, her boo boo was just a minor one. It still sprang on the tears like a faucet though, I must admit.

See sweet little Kloe has been working very hard at potty training. She came running out of the bathroom to tell mommy about her good deed and she stubbed her precious her toe.

Kloe, her tears, and her huge poofy cheeks were created for the Boo Boo Baby Challenge at CDA. It was such a fun challenge for me!

I am just sooooooo VERY excited as my husband Miggy has decided to try his hand at sculpting a mini Baby Giant out of clay. He's never touched clay before so this is a whole new ball park for him. For us both actually. He's pretty much just leanring as he goes. I'm sticking to my fabric that's for sure but Miggy did one heck of a bang up job on his first go IMHO. He is really hoping for some honest feedback so if you are up to it please shoot some his way! I am going to post pics of the head and leg that he's done so far...

I simply cannot wait until she is done. She's being modeled after Clemy, the very first BG I ever made. Once all the parts are finished I will sew up a bean-bag body for her as well as a little outfit. She's going to be mine mine mine! *big smiles* If all goes well he will be making more to sell but this first one isn't leaving my side!

A new Gothic Giggle!

I am SEW tickled pink. Well tickled pink, black, and white...oh I so am. I am not sure what it is about this darling girl but she has grabbed a serious hold of my heart.

Please meet Bew Bew Bunnee. She is the latest creation from my Gothic Giggles line and as of now is still available. She is $227.00 plus travel fair. You can see all her photos and read all about her on my website http://www.tipsyteacup.com/ under the Gothic Giggles tab.

I had such a wonderful time creating her. If you recall my last Gothic Giggle Beetyle Bew, she was made from scratch without a pattern. I had no idea she would come out so cute and always regretted not making a pattern for her. Well after talking with Kat Lees I was encourage to try and recreate a similar pattern and then is when Bew Bew Bunnee took form. Thank you Kat so much!

As I said above this pouty sweetheart has seriously stolen my heart. Bunnee is approx. inches from tip of her ears to tips of her toes. Her fur is a super soft fluffy thick white faux fur and like most of my Gothic Giggles she has the wonderful black and white striped legs and arms. Inside her ears has the same black and white striped fabric.

All of Bew Bew's details are done with water color pencils, pens, and paint then sealed with a matte spray. She has the most wonderful huge pink eyes and her two bunny teeth were custom made just for her.

Her bottom and arms are slightly weighted with pellets and her feet are so delightfully large, as all bunnies feet should be. Her ears are wired for fun posing and when you peek at her toosh you will see she has the proper cotton tail. Last but not least I found the perfect little bow for the top of her head.

Now I am off to rescue some more Baby Giants! Oh but one thing before that I will be finishing my first Childhood Memories Uht Oh! first. Am I on a roll or what???

The Baby Giants are on the move!

Oh yes they are! It feels WONDERFUL to be back in my groove again. I have seriously been sculpting away (10 hours days min of late) and let me tell you I will have some super wonderful faces making appearances along the way! Be excited, very excited...well I sure am lol.

For now I would like to introduce the latest Baby Giants Zayne and Payzlee.

Zayne is a lil boy who is happy to be the first AA mix Baby Giant to be rescued! He also is a teether and has two cute lil bottom teeth. He was made for someone whom has been on my Baby Giant waiting list so is already sold.

Payzlee is such a sweet little princess! She is most definitely one of the chubby ones but oh so prissy! She does so love her pink and is the first to be found with pink hair! She was also made for someone on the BG waiting list so is already sold.

I am staying on the move with the BGs so if you happen to be on the waiting list please keep an eye out!

A surprise smile sent my way...

You know something, I sometimes think I get more smiles from the wonderful people whom collect my dolls then I do from creating them. Okay well maybe not more, but we shall call it a draw.

The above picture was sent to me out of the blue by a wonderful friend and lady named Sarka...(Hi dear Sarka, I do hope it's okay I blurted your name). She lives in Australia and is in the process of moving. She thought the girls would like to say hello to me before their box was taped up. Now how CUTE is that? It's times like these that I so appreciate the friendships I've made through doll making.

It makes my day each and every time I see or hear how my girls/boys are loved.

Here comes TRUBBEL!

Hmmm perhaps I am not the best at drawing, I know, I know, but I do try and

thought it would be nice to show how many of my creations start out once the vision leaves my head.

The little fella above will be called Trubbel. He's not a bad boy, just a handful. I envision him with orange/red curly hair, blue, brown, or green eyes, TONS of freckles, and a some what grumpy face due to him not getting his way.

Can't you just see him coming to life?

I do have a good amount of BGs to get done before he will come to pass but I am so excited, yes I am!

What Catches Your Eye???

So many times I catch myself stopping and focusing on something more then the "normal" allocated time. More often then naught, it's something that, through the years, has grabbed my attention above all other stuff. Why do these things fascinate me so? Not only do they fascinate me but each time I see one of them I can feel my created juices start a flowing.

Above are just a few of the things that hold my attention and make my eyes sparkle for some odd reason. Red English style phone booths...what is it about these wonderful things? I so want one in my house! Dreadlocks...when I see someone sporting these I am totally fascinated by them. Old luggage...I have a wonderful collection of of Shortrip cases that I simply adore. I keep wanting to buy more but where would I put them? Pacifiers...any shape, age, color, I just love them. Old cameras...I do not own a single one but each time I see one in an antique store or thrift store I spend way too much time looking it over. Old phones...I love to have them sitting in the house just for decoration. OMGosh old keys...a HUGE love and fascination of mine. My Dad started a collection of these for me when I was very young. I have no idea why I am obsessed with them but I certainly am! Wheels, cogs, old clock parts...they are right up there with old keys with me! I so have to create something steam punk. White walker vintage baby shoes...oh Heaven help me I have a huge collection of these. I adore them and all I have to do is look at a pair and I want to sculpt! Vintage furniture...oh yes it rocks! My bedroom is so happily decorated with mix match pieces of vintage and antique furniture. It's my happy spot. Gnomes!...oh do not get me started on Gnomes. I LOVE them. The older they are the better, but each and every Gnome deserves a well timed look and visit. My dream is to have a Gnome garden!

So there ya have it, just the tip of the iceberg with me true, but these "things" are always at the top of the viewing list for me. I know I am not the only person out in the world like this...so fess up...what is your viewing addictions??? LOL

Inspiration

I've talked about inspiration before and some of you may already know that artist Teddy Williams has a been a huge part of my artistic life since an early age. Above are pages I scanned from my favorite childhood book Children's Best Love Nursery Rhymes which was illustrated by T. Williams. I never get tired of posting Teddy's art and as you can see many of my doll's features arrive from it. Just look at thoes feet! Oh and those noses! Oh my aren't those hands just precious?!

Ofcourse not all of my inspiration is balance on Teddy's wonderful talent. There is not a day that goes by that I do not see something that inspires me. Fabric, yarns, pencils, paints, other artist's blogs, my family, my pets....the list goes on and on.

What in the world were we thinking when we decided to move right in the middle of Christmas? I am so very pooped out! I know it's very much worth it though so I am beaming way more then griping!

I wanted to come on here though and let you know why I have not been blogging or commenting on your wonderful blogs. As you see above we have been busy busy busy! Oh my, I cannot wait to show you my new doll studio/craft room. It is totally fab and so much larger then anything else I've had in the past. Okay, to be honest I have never, yes never, had my own seperate sewing room! Can you imagine how excited I am?

I am sad though about one thing, due to this move and all that it had created I am having to get my Santa stuff sent out after Christmas and I didn't even get cards sent out. How Grinchy is that? Oh please do forgive me. I have a full size heart I promise =:o)

Not a lot of time so I better scoot, I am picking my eldest son up from the airport this morning. The best present ever!

Wishing you all a very merry and blessed Christmas in all the different languages around the world. For this beautiful holiday let all our hearts be one! Love is the universal language.

Sneak peek of my baby swamp monster!

Umm well yes, I said baby swamp monster. I mean really my friends, baby swamp monsters need lots of love too right?

The sweet face you see above is non other then little Kelp. He, or maybe even a she (I have no idea how to tell the gender of a baby swamp monster do you?) was found all alone and crying. Now I do have to admit, I was a bit thrown at first as I am used to rescuing Baby Giants not baby swamp monsters but I quickly scooped up this sad little baby and knew right away his/her name had to be Kelp. Yes, I know kelp is found in the ocean and not in a swamp but water is water so that's my story and ima sticking to that name *smiles*

Kelp is not fully ready to make his/her debut just yet but I can tell you he/she has just the most fun and delightful ears as well as such super cute large aquatic feet. Can you picture the cuteness in your head? If not, it will be a tad longer wait until I will be putting him/her up for show to find his/her new home so please be patient. Yes, patient, I just know there are a ton of folks out there just waiting in line to see a baby swamp monster LOL.

As you saw in one of my previous posts I am all for adding special touches and putting as much thought/work into my COAs etc. as I do my creations. I have been putting a lot of thought into this area once again of late. Being a doll collector, as well as a doll artist, has made me very aware of some of the problem areas in this "sport". One of the biggest "pains in my toosh" for me as a collector was keeping up with all the COAs and nametags. Many times the COAs got misplaced and more then not, the hang/name tags would get bent. So no matter how beautiful and such a treat they were there were still problems.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr right?

Well my dolly friends I do believe I have finally worked out the perfect solution! While this is not a brand new idea to the doll world, as far as logo TAGS go, I would never take credit where credit is not due me, I have never seen COAs done this way in all the years I have been collecting and creating. I have decided to make COAs the same way you would a tag. So now my COA is made out of plastic (which cannot bend) with the dolls name, picture, AND edition number printed and sealed on it. How kick toosh is that? Even better, it is worn as a bracelet for the doll so no worries about it getting misplaced or lost! Along with the COA being on the bracelet there will also be a Tipsy Teacup hang tag. All this is then put together with a nice copper colored ring with a stretchy cord running through it strung with pretty beads.

I am so excited about this and love how the prototype turned out. It of course is a much more expensive way to do things BUT I feel collectors will appreciate having such a nice COA/hang tag/bracelet/treat more then they will be bothered with the added costs.

I must admit, I planned on having this little boy finished well before now but life sometimes sends unexpected adventures our way, so dear Ebbie has been on the back burner.

Although he is still in the early stages I do believe his features are starting to pop out slowly but surely creating such a fun and adorable personality.

I am thinking this lil guy is going to be a super fun hand full! What ya think?

We had a beautiful Thanksgiving here full of love, laughter, and smiles! I so pray all of you did as well. Isn't life a wondrous miracle???

Little touches truly make a wonderful difference...

I am happy as a crab to put a tremendous amount of time and work into my dolls and I do so with much happiness and smiles but It does not end there though, nope it does not. What am I talking about? Why, I am talking about the little things of course! Little yes, but they can make oh such a large difference, don't you agree?

Let me explain, I have been a doll collector for just about most of my life. I have always appreciated the amazing talent and skills that go into each and every creation that I excitedly purchased. After "blissing" through the initial excitement of the doll itself I would then move onto the little things. The COA for example, it was always such a huge treat when it was a well thought out and crafted one. Ones with art, color, or best of all a picture of the doll. The material it was printed on, the quality of the print. All those things were such an extra treat and smile. I hope that I am making sense lol.

Okay let me explain a little further. I purchased a doll in the past that was a very nice doll indeed but with it came a sadly thrown together COA. Now like I said, I have collected dolls most of my life so I am happy to say this doll was not purchased from anyone here in blog land and I will not say how long ago it was purchased but I was so sad to see that the "little things" were very much neglected. The COA was printed on standard computer paper which wrinkles and tears easily so when I got it, it was very much rumpled. Worse then that. majority of it was faded, had lines al through it, and missing ink spots all over. The printer it was printed on was extremely low on ink and it was printed and sent out that way anyhow. How super sad to put work into a doll and then just let the rest slide. If this doll lasts for years to come and can be passed on to the next generation of doll collectors it will do so without any documentation as the paper will no doubt not make it through. This is heart breaking to me. This was not a cheap doll and was purchased for over 200.00. It just baffles me.

Please believe I am not saying this to nit pick but to rather stress to all the doll artists out there that your work is so worth adding the little things to. Think of the love and time you put into your art. Think of all the smiles your creations will create as they pass hand to hand. Don't you want those people to always know who is sending those smiles their way? I so encourage everyone to always keep this in mind. You are worth it, yes you are!

So, what do I do? What I do is pretty simple to tell you true, but I make sure I do it with time, thought, and quality put into it. First off I use card stock or better. This makes sure that it has strength to hold up. Next I ALWAYS make sure my printer has plenty of ink and I always print on the highest quality level allowed, last after my COA is printed it is then slid into a heavy duty plastic sleeve that fits it perfectly. Yanno, kind of like the kind that rare baseball cards are slid into. Now I have a COA that will last as long as my creation will last (with popper care ofcourse lol).

Now for what goes on my COAs...First I make sure to have my logo printed in color up top, next is stating that its a COA, after that a full color photo of my creation, below that the name and edition number, and in finishing I list myself as the artist and hand sign each and every COA. It is then slid into it's plastic sleeve. Easy as 123 but will hopefully be a special touch that collectors will appreciate for years to come.

I do not end my "little things" there though. Nope, there needs to be more fun! I also do a hang tag that is tied onto my dolls wrist with ribbon. On the front you will see my logo printed in color and under that will be the dolls name. Open up the inside and you will see the logo of the doll line the creation comes frome and under that will be a short story of what the doll line is about as well as my signature. Turn the hang tag over and on the back you will see a picture of the dolls face with the dolls edition number underneath. It's close to being another COA all in itself.

I love adding these little touches!!!

So all in all, just something to think about and thinking is oh so good right??? LOL

Oh I really do have to admit this was not the picture I was hoping to post for you on this very early Tuesday morning. No indeed it was not.

Alas, my dear friends, I have caught the flu. My son was home all of last week sick and now the nasty little virus, that I do imagine in my mind looks much like the above picture, has decided to park it's nasty little self my system for a bit.

I am happy to say I am feeling a bit better though and am in high hopes to be back in the game before the end of this week.

While I have not worked on my Christmas boy during this icky spell, I have been able to tinker on my laptop which gave me a chance to create the new graphic for my Funkie Punkie line.

What is a Funkie Punkie? Oh I am excited to tell you! My Funkie Punkie line will consist of 1980's inspired dolls. How groovy can ya get? Hmm groovy, perhaps that word is dating a bit back before the 80's? Anyhow, you will see anything inspired from the funkie and fantastic long hair bands to the bright and colorful punk movement. I can so see a Boy George inspired doll popping out of this line, oh yes sireeeeeeeeeee! The possibilities are going to be endless and having grown up in the 80's, well lets just say this line will be special to my heart and a true treat for me to create!

I will tell you a little secret, the very first doll from this line is being created for a loved one and lets just say keep the word head banger in mind! Are you as excited as I am?

Questions, questions, questions, and Answers!

I love getting emails from you and I've had a lot of emails over this last year asking me how I make my dolls. I've been asked what supplies I use, what my steps to making a doll are, how long it takes etc. I've also been asked if I sell my patterns, teach classes, or give sculpting lessons. I thought it would be nice to answer all these questions via a blog post even though I have already answered back through email.

I guess I'll start with some of the supplies I use. I use a ton of various supplies and mediums so I am just going to list the ones I use every time I sculpt and are a MUST have for me.

1. Piecemakers 5 inch sculpting needles...I have used this brand for years and LOVE them!

2. Cluster stuff...I started using this for my heads while experimenting and it is fabulous to sculpt. It's a bit of a pain to stuff until you hit a groove but I will not use anything else for my heads. For my bodies I use any good quality polyfill type stuffing.

3. Stuffing fork...awesome for stuffing fingers and hard to reach places.

4. Derwent water color pencils.

5. Curved needles...Fantastic for sculpting noses and I will not use anything else.

6. Mettler thread...all I will use for sewing my bodies.

7. Coats and Clark carpet thread...the only thread I use for sculpting.

8. Prismacolor portrait pencil set.

9. Acrylic paints, diff brands.

10. Gesso...I use clear, black, and white.

11. Fabric...I use windsor comfort, doe suede, craft velour, and muslin.

So what steps go into making a Ree doll? Well first comes the pattern. This is a lot of trial and error and can really get nutty at times. Once I finally get the pattern how I want it, I am ready to start making a doll. The pattern gets put onto fabric, cut out, then the sewing begins. I normally sew the head first. After that I stuff it. Next I start the sculpting process. Once I get the features the way I want them I paint the eyes, eyebrows, and mouth. Next comes the shading and details. Once I am done with all that I then do the hair. The head and hair always take me the longest and I am very tedious when it comes to those processes. I then sit the head aside and sew up the body. Stuffing comes next and then I start the sculpting process on the body. Once that is done shading and detailing come next. I then either sew an outfit for the doll or I put a cute store bought outfit on. The whole process takes me approx. 13-15 hours per doll. Start to finish I am the only one who touches the dolls but once I have my hired help next year it will change things a bit allowing me to create more dolls each week. My help will just be sewing and stuffing bodies, as I will always do the artistic work on all of my creations, but this will be a tremendous help and will really help me meet my demand. I am really excited.

Will I be teaching classes or selling my patterns? Right now I am having a hard enough time just keeping up with my sculpting so I do not think I will be doing either of these things anytime soon. I am not sure they will even be in my future but I always keep an open mind. I do try and post tips and such via here and my website though and I am always happy to help with questions if I can. I have tutorials on my website as well. There are FANTASTIC classes listed on CDA website http://clothdolls.ning.com/ as well as The Doll Net website http://www.thedollnet.com/. I have taken classes from both these sights over this past year, and let me tell you, you will not regret it. They are fabulous! If you are looking into making dolls or even if you are like me and have made dolls for a while these classes are a must and so fun.

Oh what fun I had with this darling girl. She is such a cutie or should I say Que Tae? Needless to say I am extremely please with how she turned out. I am just as tickled about her outfit.

I've had a lot of requests come in for straight weighted arms and weighted bottoms so I decided to give both a go on this darling and oh how fun she is to pose! She also has my standard jointed head.

Que loves to watch cartoons, eat rice crispy treats, and loves to color. She does NOT stay in the lines but we love it that way.

Wouldn't you like to make these curls?

I call these pencil curls, even though they are made with dowels and not pencils. I suppose you could make them with pencils if you truly wanted to but I do think dowels are the more practical choice lol.

I posted this procedure to make curls last year some time but while re-doing my blog the first time I wiped out quite a few posts, the pencil curl post being one of them, and I thought it would be nice to re-post the tutorial.

There are many successful ways to make curls, this is just the method which I developed that works best for me with the longest lasting results. Back when I figured out how to do these curls I didn't know about the online doll making clubs nor did I have any patterns that would teach me. I desperately wanted to learn how to make yarn curls without using the method of crocheting so my trial and errors began.

Now, I will tell you that I did know one person who did not make dolls but did hair makeovers on them whom figured out how to make this style of curl before I did (as I am sure many others in the doll world had as well) but she would not give her secret and I fully respected that, besides it made me work hard to understand how the whole process worked which in my thoughts contributed to my road to becoming a better doll maker.

Okay so enough of the jibber jabber.

What you will need:

*Two skeins of acrylic yarn (I prefer RedHeart for this) You can use two of the same color or two different colors. I have pictured examples of both.

*A large amount of dowels, 1/4 inch or smaller in width (too large will result in loose curls) and approx. 12 inches in length. I buy my dowels in 3ft lengths at Wal-Mart then snip them down to 12 inch pieces. If you want to use the larger 1/4 inch size you can buy bags of dowels at Wal-Mart in the wedding cake section already cut in 12inch lengths.

*A large GLASS baking dish

*Scissors

*Oven

*Oven Mitts

*Timer (or something to watch the time on)

*** Lots of patience and free time while watching TV (this is for the winding, unwinding, and cutting)

This is a super easy process BUT it does take a lot of time if you are wanting to do a nice full head of hair. I would say that the two sweet faces I pictured above took around 180 wrapped dowels or more. Yikes, a lot but so worth it! I bake 60 dowels at a time so that the heat spreads evenly.

Lets get started:

Get your yarn pulled out and tie the end of the two strands onto the end of the dowel then start to wrap the yarn tightly around the dowel pushing up as you go and making sure not to twist your strands. You want to tightly wrap as much yarn as possible on the dowel but make sure to never overlap the yarn. It needs to stay single layer. Once you are at the end of the dowel snip the yarn away from the skein and then tie off the yarn on the dowel and sit it into the baking dish.

Do the above step to the next 59 dowels (or however many you choose to make each round)

Next preheat your oven to 325. Actually ovens and such vary so it may be anywhere between 275-325. You do not want it too hot or it will discolor the yarn but too low will not give a strong enough curl. Put your dowels in the glass baking dish and bake for 45-60 minutes. Pop on your oven mitts and take the dish out of the oven and let the curls cool off. Do not touch them or the dish until all is cool. This may take a good while.

Once the curls are completely cool to the touch it's time to unwind them off the dowels. Pull them all off and then you are ready to cut them into the length you would like. For the all over curls I usually cut my curls into threes. Play around with lengths though, it's such fun!

Once you get all the curls cut and ready you can sew them onto your dolls head and make any style your imagination can come up with. This is a long process but not a hard one and it's so worth it in the end!

While this recipe may not make your tummy happy it's sure to be candy to the eyes once you see it on one of your dollies!

Oh my, now could this truly be me?

Yes, yes, I do believe it is! Not really mind you, but I have to admit that I feel as though it is me much of the time.

I am so sorry to have not been keeping up with my blog posts but please rest assure that you have not been far from my mind or heart.

What have I been up to?

Well for one, I went out of town with my husband for a week while he worked. It wasn't the best town to visit, to tell you true, but I so enjoyed seeing his face after work each day and it was a pleasure to cook dinner for his crew. Those electric skillets rock! There were a lot of laughs and I did learn something important from the experience...I now know what town I NEVER want to live in LOL.

Now that I am back home I am excitedly back to work on my latest doll. She is a full size Asian Uht Oh and I have the most darling outfit for her. I cannot wait to share her with you and she should make her appearance sometime next week. After that, work on a little boy will begin along with a Gothic Giggle or two. I know many have been waiting on the Baby Giants and I do promise you I will get back to work on them soon. I had worked on so many of them after the first one was "discovered" in the forest of RaRa in the Yadish region that I got way behind with my other darling lovelies. I shall get it balanced out soon!

Halloween Uht Oh! Embir Nyte would love to say hello...

Oh what a yummy sweet Halloween treat Embir Nyte is! I cannot tell you how much fun and enjoyment I had while bringing this little witch to life. I put so very much time and effort into everything about her including her outfit which I designed and sewed myself.

The hat! Oh now the hat I am very proud of! I knew what I wanted to created in my mind but I did not have any patterns for it. I do say it came out fabulous indeed for my first withches hat, wouldn't you say?

But before I talk about Embirs outfit I want to talk about her! I did several new things with her, the first and most noticeable being her eyes. They are much more detailed then my standard eyes and I love how they came out. The next being her sweet lips. Aren't they just the cutest? Both of these areas I used wonderful techniques learned in Kat's and Kim's online classes. You can take the classes too at CDA!

I also chose to do a straight arm on Embir which I made sure was floppy enough to have fun with while posing. Ofcourse her hands have all the wonderful detailing I put into all my hands but have extra shading to them.

Ooooo the tootsies! My favorite thing to talk about! Do I love baby tootsies or what? Couldn't you just smooch these precious baby feet all over? Foot fetish me? Nah, I actually care very little for adult feet. Nope all my love is for those darling baby and toddler feet. So yes I suppose I have a baby foot fetish lol.

Now her outfit I created from my own design using the most wonderfully rich fabrics. The bodice and pantaloons I made using a thick super soft rust colored chenille and the sleeves, bows on the legs, and witches hat I made using a fabulous corduroy earth tone print. Is she not sporting the most wonderful fall colors?

I definitely think Miss Ember is happily ready for her first day at Wiggly Warts Witch & Wizard Elementary School don't you?

I am so tickled and honored that three of my creations were featured in the wonderful magazine Soft Dolls & Animals.

Jin Jin and Dymmie were just beaming to be pictured in the "From the Orient" display...

Beetyle Bew and Boo were just as equally beaming to be featured on the "Last Peek" page...

Me? Well I have been non-stop bouncing since I opened the magazine! I am truly honored and just right down happy!

So onto what I have been up to...

In the doll world I have been working on my Halloween Uht Oh and I have to say I am beyond pleased with her progress. I just finished up her outfit today and I couldn't be more happy. Oh wait until you see her hat! Oh this hat just had me on my toes while I was making it. I think I should have made it a tad larger to fit my head rather then hers! I will finish sewing and sculpting her body up so she should be posted sometime this week. Keep your eyes peeled because she will be a true Halloween treat!

In family life we have all been scrambling. Oh it's a good sort of scramble this time. We have 30 days to finish saving up for a down payment on a house. YES! I said house! It's a very small house but a truly lovely house full of charm that just makes you smile when you walk in. Because it's a much smaller house then anything we have lived in yet we are gearing up for a large yard sale this weekend. Hopefully it will not be too cold. Wish us luck!

I will be so very busy in the next coming months but I just cannot go too awful long without missing you all terribly so I will be peeking whenever I can!

This is Muggins the Skylord dragon from the very talented Kat Lees. Isn't he just precious?

I received this pattern tonight, and as always, I read over each new pattern as soon as I get it. I get so excited seeing the art created from such wonderful doll makers around the world.

Now, I must tell you that not only does this look like an incredibly enjoyable pattern to make, it has a FANTASTIC trick in! Oh no no no, tsk I musn't tell you what this trick is, but I will say if you decide to try this pattern as well, you will not be disappointed. I got so tickled just reading the instructions.

I can sooooooooooo see this lil fella becoming a fast friend of one of my Baby Giants,can't you?

I just want to scream out to the world what a fantastic and talented budding artist Miss Kaeli is! She is the beautiful daughter of the beautiful Jess at Little Dirt Lane (please check out her link on the right hand side of my blog)

Oh yes I am in quite the happy fuss after receiving my very first painting from Kaeli. This is a purchase I will always cherish and what a bargain! Pictures do not do this precious piece justice. I just had to fancy frame it right away and it's hung right next to my sewing station so I can smile at it as I create. What inspiration. Oh and even to top it off I received the most precious dolly along with my painting! Oh so unbelievably cute cute cute! Thank you darling Kaeli and Jessi wessieeeeeee so much!

Ahh yes, so now onto what I have been up to...

Well I am very happy to say I am finally working on a doll. She is going to take me a tad more time then most my normal dolls do as I am experimenting with new techniques learned in Kat's eyes and lips classes as well as Kim's face painting class. Oh both classes are a must! Thank you Kat and Kim bunches for offering those classes!

Her name is Ember Nyte, her hairstyle was inspired from a character in the movie City of Ember. She will have a full handmade outfit, hat included, when finished and she will be offered for sale as my special edition Halloween Uht Oh! I am really excited about her!

After visiting Little Dirt Lane and Sew Pure I just could not wait any longer to post my new hair color surprise. If you take a peek at their blogs you will see what I mean. They are the first two blogs listed on my fav list on the right. You will get the most delightful smiles when visiting there I promise.

Like Jess, I have been a fan of wearing my bandannas in a vintage style for many years now but I never had the guts to dye my hair black to complete that vintage/rockabilly look. Whelp, a few days ago I went for it and I am loving it!

What a lucky girl I am!

Right before my bday my hubby and I decided to hit the thrift stores and we found these two matching pink vintage rocking chairs for 50% off, how cool is that?!?

I am tickled pink, pun very much intended.

They are just perfect in our bedroom and make such a wonderful reading and doll making nook. On the table is a wonderful piano styled lamp that I bought at an antique store in Memphis and on the table I have put a vintage teapot with matching cup that fits onto the top (so neat), and then a little tray holding a vintage travel brush.

I just smile when I look over to my new little nook.

Oh yes, the rooster above seems to have quite a shock underneath him. Now we all know roosters aren't suppose to lay eggs but this is not the mix up I mean to speak about in this post.

I have been bombarded with a ton of emails concerning my Animees and I just do not have the time to answer them all so thought it best that I do a post that everyone with questions can read.

It seems someone has come very close to copying my original Animee design and while I personally feel being copied is a very big compliment I also feel credit should absolutely be listed when doing so and this was not done. I am in a bit of a mess now due to this.

I have been asked many times through the years if I sell my patterns and I have always answered honestly in saying that I do not. This does not mean that I never will but at this point in time it's just not something I want to focus on as I have a hard enough time just trying to get the time to make my dolls etc. This has led to my site having a fairly long waiting list should I ever get a pattern ready for sale. Now with this look a like dolly out there I am getting emails in that are a bit on the upset side regarding the release of my pattern. I promise I have not released my pattern nor have I given any patterns out. I promised to email my list should this come to pass and I will keep that promise. Please know that.

This "look alike" was created without my knowledge and I in no way took part in any of it. The wonderful people who have emailed through the years will be the first to know should I sell my pattern.

I am really sorry about this mix up and I encourage anyone who is inspired to make a doll very similar to another artist please give credit where credit is due. It can keep a lot of problems from happening.

Mmmm so.... *wrinkling my nose up and doing a sideways smirk* I will be 37 not too long from now, which most certainly qualifies me as vintage, BUT that is not what I mean to speak about....nup not that!

I just bought the most darling vintage hat! Oh I do so love collecting vintage hats but I also love to wear them, as you can see in the above photo.

Isn't the hat just wonderful?

I am not exactly the most traditional person when it comes to style (I bet you never would have guess that), however, I adore mixing the old with the new and I have always been tremendously fond of antiques and vintage items. I had such fun wearing my Mom's old 50s dresses when I was a teen with combat boots. Yes, I have been an oddity my entire life, giggling, and I was blessed enough to have parents who lovingly encouraged me to let my uniqueness shine through. In fact today I do believe I would still wear those 50's dresses IF I could still fit into them!

My children thought it best to include more then one furry friend in my new line so "Boggles" has become "Whymsical Whyskers". The main focus will still be lil ratties but other furry whiskered friends will make an appearance as well. I have to admit I had so much fun creating this logo and do so like it better. I had fun with the W being the critters teeth lol. What ya think?

There will be three categories for this line...

Along with playing with the logos above, I decided to re-vamp a couple other logos as well...

Now all I need to do is get back to sculpting!!!

Yes, I Said Boggling, Not Blogging!!!

I finished designing my logo for my new ratty line of soft sculpture dolls. Isn't is cute? I have decided to call them Boggles as it's one of my very favorite things that a pet rat does. What a huge smile for me it is!

For those of you unfamiliar with what boggling is, it's a very odd thing a rat does when they are very happy. At first they brux, which is a noise they make by clacking their teeth fast together and scraping them back and forth, it's similar to like when a cat purrs. Well, the muscle they use to do this happy bruxing is connected to their eyes and when used a lot it causes them to boggle which is the term used when their eyes literally vibrate and pop in and out. Not, as in, all the way out of their head but you can very much visually see this funny, unique, and adorable "happy dance". It's so funny and I love it when they do this, it lets me know I am giving them a super happy home!

I do not have my prototype finished yet and it will be a bit more time before one surfaces. I really do need to get a handful of other projects done first but I have to say I am tickled to have atleast gotten a logo done.

Inspiration for a new line of dolls at the Tipsy Teacup???

How could you not be inspired looking at these precious cuddly faces??? Okay well so maybe they wouldn't be considered precious to everyone, yanno the whole rat ewwww thing, but I have to say I am smitten with my babies. Domesticated rats truly are so very misunderstood by so many. They are so very smart (as smart as dogs), can be trained like dogs, are loyal, loving, give bunches of kisses, love to play with you, extremely clean, and are just down right stinking CUTE! Two of my baby girls were rescued from a pet shop. I say rescued as they were going to be live feeders for a snake or reptile. Grant it, I do not know their family history so they may have more health problems down the road (I pray not) rat breeder will breed not only for a certain type of rat but also for temperament, life longevity, and health. Most "feeder" or pet store rats will live appox 1-2 years in most cases. A rat bred from a good breeder will live approx. 4-5 years. So while I still have to deal with saying goodbye to my ratties a lot sooner then my kitties or pooches it's still worth it to have them be a part of my life for as long as I can. Okay didn't mean to give you a lesson and will get back to my original point.

I do so feel a fun and whimsical line coming from these precious faces! Right now I have family here visiting so no sewing time but you can bet I will be tinkering once time permits!!!

....to be among my cherished blogging friends again!

Dear me, it's been...well...just...honestly truly...so so very...unbelievably...unbearably...right down... sad and lonely without you all! I have had a bit of a tiff going on here, but as I just read on a friends blog, the storm is passing! Now how wonderful a feeling is that? I simply feel like bouncing, or singing, or whistling (if I could whistle), or just anything that sends that warm wonderful feeling that starts pulsing from your heart and ends on your lips with a beautiful smile. Oh yes yes yes and a loud whoot whoot. Life is a true gift and miracle and I will never forget that.

Now, as much as I hate to say this, I have not touched doll making or sewing in such a long time and I am above and beyond ready to play dolls with you again. It may be another week or so but rest assured VERY soon I will be back doing what makes my heart sing, doll making, sharing my smiles with you, and loving the smiles I am treated to from you.

I tend to be very picky about my sewing boxes and love to have everything I need in a cute compact and somewhat organized space. Most sewing boxes left me frustrated and annoyed with their layout and/or size so I went hunting for something that would fit my personal taste and needs better. I ended up finding this super cute PINK jewelry case at the thrift store a while back and knew right away it could be turned into a wonderful sewing box.

In front of the mirror is a little pouch that is perfect size for my long sculpting needles and ruler. The ring holder in the middle worked out PERFECT as a pin cushion for the needles I use most. I also use sewing pins to mark my stitches rather then a marking pin and those fit wonderfully on the first couple rows of the ring holder. After that I placed sewing needles along with my curved needles. The sides store my sculpting thread perfectly along with my pencils, seam ripper and such on the other side. Below is a drawer that holds my scissors, hemostats, jointing thread, etc. It is the perfect little sewing box just for me and it's PINK!

I thought this might be an idea that will work for you too?

Mairee Ayne is such a darling country bumpkin. She loves to play in the fields and pick strawberries on beautiful sunny days. Mairee has brown braided hair with brown eyes and an adorable sprinkling of freckles across her cheeks and nose. She is wearing a dress and bloomer set I made out of just the cutest heavy toile fabric with contrasting braided check. I also made her a pair of matching bows to complete her outfit. She is such a fun little one and would love to send smiles your way.

Mairee's Favorites: Picking Strawberries, feeling the grass between her toes, and playing in the summer rain.

Mairee's Dislikes: Cottage Cheese, splinters, and bedtime (good luck getting her down to sleep)

Woosh I am so happy to finally get a chance to post! It has been a busy go of it here. I have yet to post about this on my other blog but as most of you do not know we have adopted twin teen girls. We now have FOUR teens in our house which can make things pretty busy to say the least. It's a wonderful blessing though and I cannot tell you how many extra smiles and laughs I have had since the girls got here. Life is BEAUTIFUL! Ahhhh wouldn't it be a lovely thing to be able to get this much done at once? Although I have to admit I do not think I would make a grand fashion statement with so many arms?

I am running a bit behind but wanted you to know that my next two creations will indeed be surfacing soon. I had a terrible mishap with my dolly made from Jess's pattern so will be starting over. I just had to keep tinkering with her face and, yup you guessed it, the paint decided to take on a mind of it's own and wow can that be a no no!

I also have my new Itty Bitty Uht Uh that will be making her appearance soon. Her name is Mairee Ayne and she is oh so charming and very country.

The stripes of the pillow and bedspread sew reminded me of my Alice and I was truly inspired!

Oh I am soooooooooooooooooooooooo jazzed to introduce my Gothic Alice with her Chessy Cat!

Although I posted Tipsy first, Alice is actually my very first "rag doll." Madame Samm first sent me an adorable dress pattern that I ended up making a gothic styled dress out of that just screamed Wonderland to me. Samm then was so very kind enough to draw up a rag doll pattern just for me and I simply cannot thank her enough!

OMGoodness I missed you all something awful! I am so happy to be back but I do have to say that I LOVED having this week to catch up on projects. I am amazed at what I was able to get done! It's been a super long day so I am going to cut to the chase and show off my first two sweeties. I have three others to show as well but they will come as the week goes on. I am so excited to share!

Okay first we have Feeyone Faye. She is a blue eyed full size Original Uht Oh! with a head full of long thick black ringlets. I braided her bangs and then pulled them back into her ringlets. One little guy to show before the NO PEEKING starts! Please meet Sprig!

Okay so maybe he's not so little LOL. I should have had this baby boy posted long before now but err umm you know how life can get right?!

Sweet darling Sprig is very happy to meet you. He's is ecstatic to be a rescued Baby Giant and cannot wait to meet his new mommy. She may have her hands full with this one though!

Although he is just an infant he gets around wonderfully and tends to get into quite a lot of things. See, Baby Giants are born with amazing motor skills and I suppose this is understandable and needed in order to make it in a world filled with parents that can squash you with their big toe. However, as you know if you have read the story on my website, the runts of this giant clan get abandoned and left behind so it's then left to us humans to keep up with these amazing motor skills. Ah yes, Sprig is a sweet handful indeed and he got his name honestly. I cannot tell you how many chewed up sprigs/twigs I found around him when he was rescued! What teething toys!

OMGoodness I cannot even begin to tell you how much I have missed all of you!

Thank you Madame Samm for doing me the kindness of keeping everyone updated. You are a life saver as always! I had no doubt in my mind you would behave LOL. Oh and thank you so much for the new siggy, I love it and it's seeeew Ree!

I am very happy to say our comp is up and back at it. Sheeeew that was an experience to say the least. Seems we caught a pretty mean virus and we were told it, more then likely, came from Facebook. This is so sad to me as I have always enjoyed Facebook but now I will be deleting my account there. I will always be here though and would love to stay in touch via here or email at customerservice@tipsyteacup.com with all my Facebook friends!

This post will be a rather short one as I am flippin to go through your blogs and see what wonderful creations have been added. Posting on your blogs is one of my happy smiles during the day and I have missed it terribly. I have missed my "dolly family" here something awful for sure.

As far as my creations go, I will be showcasing some of my darlings very soon and I am so excited! Three to be exact but they will all come to say hello on different days. I also have a huge line up that I cannot wait to get started on. I have had a bit of a large delay though due to the comp issues AND I am thrilled to say we now have twin teen daughters living with us! I will post about them soon on my personal blog. =:o)

They are my Itty Bitty Uht Ohs! and are only approx 12-13 inches tall. Samm was the inspiration behind this new size for me and I cannot thank her enough. Oh! which also brings me to another line of dolls I will be making inspired by Samm (imagine that LOL) and Jess! This is a HUGE smile for me and I will tell you all about it when I post the first doll from this line.

Oh Heavens me I am over the moon with this perfectly precious pink baby bear! Her name is Kiku and I astonishingly won her from Sandi at http://bearlysaneaust.blogspot.com/

When I received notice from Sandi that Kiku was going to be mine I about shot through the roof, no kidding! If you have seen Sandi's bears then you know why, and if you have not, once you see her bears you will also then know why.

I just cannot say enough about Kiku (even if I use all the wonderful new words Madame Samm sent our way lol.) She is just spectacular and oh so lovable and cuddly! Her joints are amazing and I love all the fun I can have with her during posing. OMGosh and her fur....sigh....just mind blowing =:o)

Kiku and I became fast friends the minute I pulled her from her beautiful wrapped package. Oh and lets do talk about her package! It's was simply scrumptious. I sat there just holding it drinking it all in before I could bring myself to open the elegant golden bow holding the soft pink tissue paper together. It was a princess's package! Really! That is what I thought to myself.

I just never seem to get away from my own projects long enough to play but I do indeed intend to get them all made. Oh please do come take a peek, I am sew excited!

I made a dress!...a SMALL one!
*Oh poo, I just noticed after posting this picture that I did not have one of the sleeves folded out all the way. I promise you, both sleeves are even LOL*

While I have done some smaller dolls on and off in the past this is the first time I have seriously sat down and decided to shrink some of my patterns to make a couple smaller lines. Most of my current dolls are fairly large so in the past I have always been able to use store bought baby clothes patterns for them when wanting to make their clothes or I just simply bought store made baby clothes.

Needless to say, after being encourage by a friend to try some smaller dolls, hmmm wonder who that could be, this put me in a challenging spot as I needed to make clothes to fit my smaller dolls as well.

Well, after weeks of trial and error (I am a doll maker not a seamstress lol) I did finally manage to come up with one dress pattern but I cannot show you that right now, no no, because that little dress is on a little darling that will be on her way home to a very special new momma this Friday. I will not post her pictures until I know she has made it to her new home.

Okay so to get on with my point, Madame Samm is the wonderful and encouraging friend behind this new venture for me. She is also the wonderful doll maker who sent me the tutorial to make the dress I am showing today. I cannot believe how fast I was able to make this dress and I am telling you, I am a serious slow poke sewer! Her tutorial consisted of over FORTY photos and there was just no going wrong with it! I am thrilled with the results and as always I cannot thank Madame Samm enough! Please take a nice long look at her blog, it's posted on the side here. You will fall in love with her dolls and on top of that she shares how to make other things too!

Is this dress going to be perfect for a gothic Alice in Wonderland rag doll or what???? Once I make a little apron for it oh yes yes yes I do believe it will be! *big smiles* I am so tickled!

Ahh and I just had to show off the adorable little wardrobe that I found at the thrift store. I plan on painting white polka dots (of course) on the two doors...isn't it sweet?!

Okay...so is this scary or what???

Seems my largest, or at least one of my largest challenges, concerning my doll making is creating a head and then starting another project before I put a body to that poor head.

I am terrible about this and as you can see I end up with a "mountain" of unloved doll heads.

Some of the time I pass on making a body for a head if I am not 100% enchanted with it. Other times I am pleased with the head but then another idea pops into my head that I cannot seem to wait to try out. Then at the worst of times, I seem to get what I have learned is called the doll flu and after getting a head done I just cannot seem to get myself motivated to proceed.

All in all, any way I go I end up with a pile of poor unloved heads.

This brings me to the new thought that in 2010 I can work hard to pull myself away from this habit. I do so hope some of these darlings get complete and I aim to repeat this terrible habit as little as posible.

Is there HOPE for me in 2010 perhaps?

Santa Bags Full of Fabric!

What a treat for me!

While it was a "smaller" Christmas here this year, present wise, we had such a huge beautiful Christmas!

It was filled with wonderful laughs, smiles, love, and just plain happiness. How can it get any better then that? Well, okay so there was even more...

While we were browsing the thrift stores over the holiday I scored! I found several super large bags stuffed full of wonderful fabric! These bags were so heavy my hubby had to lift them into the cart and they were only $3.99 a bag! Can you believe that?

Guess what I got for Christmas LOL

I am still going through them as I have not had much time up until now and I am just tickled pink with delight. Most of all the fabric is of a wonderful high quality and there looks to be just about every color and kind imaginable. Well okay maybe not imaginable as I can sure imagine A LOT when it comes to fabric but there is definitely a huge variety. Even about 5 yards of the craft velour I use for my BGs was in one of the bags. My mouth fell completely open when I pulled that out!

Below is a picture of just the tiny amount I have folded up and grouped so far. I am going to be all night! I am having a ball!

I cannot wait to make beautiful dresses and dollies out of this fabric blessing!

Who says Christmas has to be expensive, I would rather this fun over jewelry and such any day! LOL
